When it comes to keeping your stamps in top condition, the cleaning process depends on the type of medium you use. For standard ink pads, the easiest way to maintain your stamps is to stamp off any excess ink onto scrap paper immediately after use. This helps prevent ink buildup, keeping your stamps crisp and ready for the next project.
For acrylic paint, the cleaning process is a bit more involved since paint can dry and become harder to remove. The key is to act fast: have a container nearby with wet paper towels ready to go. Place the stamps on the wet towels between uses to prevent the paint from drying on the surface. Once you’re finished stamping, wash them thoroughly with a foaming dish soap like Dawn to remove any lingering paint.
If some paint has already dried on your stamps, don’t worry! Soaking them in Murphy’s Oil Soap is an effective way to break down the dried paint. Let the stamps soak for a while, allowing the soap to solubilize the paint, then rinse and wash them clean.
By following these steps, your stamps will stay clean and last longer, ready for many more creative projects.
