Opaque Paints Color Matching & Performance Review
We take a two-prong approach to our opaque paints. First, we create a side-by-side comparison with three brands of opaque acrylic paints (Paper Artsy – new colors) vs our mixes of Art Deco Americana & Apple Barrel. The goal is to use the color matches we created prior with the more bargain-friendly brands and see how they stack up to the Seth Apter Paper Artsy new colors (Agave, Fuzzy Cactus, Desert Bush, and Tundra). We also show how all our opaque paints can be used to alter a composition. Sometimes a print or even a collage is a gel print pulled away from a wonderful piece with simple alterations.

Our last mixing process video solved a color mixing quandary for an arty friend, this video was for P. One of our favorite creators and inspiration Seth Apter has new colors out, unfortunately, they were on back-order at the time of this video recording. So since ordering the new muted colors wasn’t an option at this time, we then decided to mix up our own batch and see how close we could get. Now we won’t know for sure until we can get our hands on some actual, but we gave it a good go. After the video, we played a bit more and even came up with an even faster mix (using just DecoArts Americana and Apple Barrel Satin or Opaque Acrylic paints) you can get this in our color guide in the link above.
