TESS-A-PENPAL Happy Mail – Journal Spread

TESS-A-PENPAL Happy Mail – Journal Spread

Quite a few of the 12 TESS-A-PENPAL printables and digital scrapbooking stamp kit were used to create “Our Happy Mail” two-page journal layout. The variation of color was done in various ways (some digitally and others using markers/sprays).

These pages were ‘christened’ by Izzy with some lovely blue gestural lines which are still visible if you pull the envelope out of the pocket.
I spray painted the background for some textural interest and to create a contrast with the lighter colored papers; it also gives depth emphasizing the layering. The hearts, the background paper, happy MAIL medallions, airplanes, envelopes are all part of the TESS-A-PENPAL collection.
Both pockets are from the original letter Marie Debrass sent via slow mail—the kinda post-person delivers to your door. The smaller envelope in the pocket on the left side was inside the larger envelope and contained tiny bits and pieces of ephemera treasures. The washi tape, Singapore label, and Singapore POST label were. part of that same mailing. Notice the stamp, made from the Hellebore flower and leaf. Inside the smaller envelope is a Dalai Lama quotation Thoughtful Studio had posted and we loved it as well.

On the right side, inside the pocket is a letter addressed to Izzy, my 2-year-old granddaughter. The stamp image is of her favorite badminton rackets.

Photos were taken on New Year’s Eve but the level of excitement there mirrors that of receiving a letter in the MAIL from Singapore! The little, heart-sealed, ‘confetti’ envelopes were obtained by fussy cutting some of the TESS-A-PENPAL papers and thrown into the air capturing that snapshot moment.
