Papers can make or break printmaking and choosing the right one can be a daunting task because there is a wide array of ones that are suitable. Price can be a factor but a reasonably priced paper that performs well is available if you know where to look. The following comparison of three papers is hardly exhaustive but there is a video comparing others. What was learned during this one was even a stiffer paper will pull a good print and the more pliable one wasn’t as effective in pulling the paint from the gel plate. Do your own experimenting and jot down your results—it may be just the one perfect paper no one knew about!
